This course covers the essential, basic knowledge and skills to confidently seek an apprenticeship in a range of construction trades.

Pre-employment program

Open the door for full-time Apprenticeship opportunities with FTA’s pre-employment programs. These courses are specifically designed to build your capability and knowledge with job ready skills for your chosen trade.

Workbook

Sometimes we like to do it old-school! If you’re better on the tools than on a computer – we’ve got your back! At FTA, we’re determined to ensure you learn how you learn best.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 8 core units and 3 elective units from the options below.

Graduates are able to confidently seek out an Apprenticeship in any specialised construction Trade. From Carpentry to Landscaping and Tiling, this course gives you the edge when applying for full-time Apprenticeships with Employers.

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:

  • Fee for service1-3 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required
  • Workshop: 1-3 months

Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.

Theory may be assessed Online or via Workbook. Practical Assessment will be conducted at your place of work or work site with fit for purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.
