What is Smart & Skilled?

Smart and Skilled is a fantastic initiative by the NSW Government, designed to make getting essential training in high-demand skills and industries more accessible. As one of the selected Registered Training Organizations (RTOs), we’re proud to be part of this program, delivering training that aligns with the needs of communities across NSW, considering factors like geography, occupation, and industry demands.

At FTA, we’re excited to offer Smart and Skilled support to eligible individuals, empowering them to take the next step in their careers through accessible education and development opportunities.

The Skills List we offer covers a wide range, from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma, encompassing foundation skills, apprenticeships, traineeships, and accredited courses. You can now complete the following courses with Foundation Training Australia at a nominal cost under the Smart & Skilled Program:*

Eligible Programs

Eligibility

While eligibility depends on many factors, Smart and Skilled course participants include people who are:

  • 15 years old or over, and
  • no longer at school or home-schooled students, and
  • living or working in NSW (or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific NSW border areas), and
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
  • a NSW apprentice or trainee
