Wall and Floor Tiling

Scope of Work

• Cut and fix tile, including ceramic, glass, marble, slate, stone and terracotta tiles, to fireplaces, floors, hearths, spas, swimming pools and walls
• Construct terrazzo floors, steps, risers and stringers
• Apply waterproofing for wall and floor tiling
• Incidental work of another class.

Qualifications Required

Any one of the following:

1. Successful completion of either an apprenticeship in wall and floor tiling or the CPC31311 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
2. Successful completion of a course the authority considers is at least equivalent to a course mentioned above.
3. A recognition certificate as a qualified wall and floor tiler
4. A qualification or statement of attainment of required competency for the class of licence.

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:

• Apprenticeship: Between 12 – 42 months depending on the type of apprenticeship and the apprentice’s ability
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 3-6 months- this term may be extended by Funding Criteria, amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required  – eligibility criteria apply
• CSQ:
  • Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Skills Assessment and Gap Training Program 2021/22 Contract).
• Fee for Service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required

Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.

Theory will be assessed Online.

Practical Assessment will be conducted at your place of work or work site with fit for purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.
