Meet Nicholas! A Tiling apprentice who successfully completed the AHC30916 Certificate III in Landscape Construction this year with Foundation Training Australia.

How often have you come across Employers that say, it’s great that your keen but you need experience or, your experience helps but you really need to get the qual? I’d say, we’ve all been in a situation where Employers simply cannot get passed a lack of experience or certification. Nicholas could certainly attest to this struggle.

He took on the AHC30916 Certificate III in Landscape Construction knowing that it would get him qualified and give him invaluable foundation skills in the construction industry. And perhaps, a foot in the door to a long term career in the trade sector.

“I did the Success Connect course to gain some practical experience and hopefully gain something good out of it. What I actually got was self-confidence, improved communication skills, and landscaping skills that provided an employment pathway to an apprenticeship.”

As much as a qualification and experience checks the boxes on an interview sheet. We believe that the confidence and skills Nicholas gained through his course far exceeds what Employers are looking for (ie. more than a qualification). And, he is now on his way to starting an apprenticeship in fact…

Before even completing his qualification, Nicholas gained employment with a local Tiling company. Congrats mate! We cannot wait to see what you do in the future – this is certainly just the beginning for you.
