The RII40720 Certificate IV in Civil Construction (Supervision) qualification is quickly becoming a required pathway in large civil construction companies. In this civil supervision course, you’ll draw on your industry experience and further develop your skills and knowledge in management-level tasks. This course covers skills in the supervision of civil works, innovation and traffic management plans. What you’ll learn

This civil construction supervision course is your leg up into management level operations. It is aimed at anyone wanting to work in roles that plan, manage and supervise infrastructure projects or civil construction works.

Your experience adds up and you can use this to fast-track your qualification.  If you’ve got a tonne of industry experience this can be used to gain part or all of your qual.

Onsite Training

We like to think this is a bit of a game changer! Learn onsite, while you work. This means less time off the tools and more time focused on practical skills.

Sometimes we like to do it old-school! If you’re better on the tools than on a computer – we’ve got your back! At FTA, we’re determined to ensure you learn how you learn best.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 5 core and 7 elective units. Please refer below for the core units of competency and a sample of suggested electives:

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:

  • Between 12 – 24 months depending on your current experience and skills
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 3-6 months- this term may be extended by Funding Criteria, amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required  – eligibility criteria apply
  • CSQ
    • Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Higher Level Skills civil program 2020/21 Contract).
    • Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Apprentice Advance+ Higher Level Skills Civil program 2020/21 Contract).
    • Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Major Projects program 2020/21 Contract).
  • Fee for service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required

Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.

Theory may be assessed Online or via Workbook. Practical Assessment will be conducted at your place of work or work site with fit for purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.
