Onsite Training

To achieve the AHC21616 – Certificate II in Landscaping, you must demonstrate competency in 8 core units and 7 elective units from the options below.

As a graduate, you have the opportunity to take on further study to extend your training into an AHC30916 Certificate III in Landscape Construction under a full-time Apprenticeship. Ask our team about your career pathway options.

On your successful completion of the course, career opportunities after studying our gardening and landscaping course include:

There are no Certificate II in Landscaping short courses. However, the course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:

  • Fee for service: 6 -12 months subject to the amount of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) awarded and subsequent Gap Training required.
  • If you are looking for part time landscaping courses, then talk to us about your level of experience and how we can integrate your studies into your schedule.

All our landscaping certification courses are assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. This is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.

Being a mix of theory and practical, it is not possible to conduct the entirety of our landscaping courses online in Australia However, the theory component may be assessed Online or you may choose to leave the computer work behind and use a Workbook. 

The practical component of our landscaping certificate programs is important. Practical Assessment will be conducted at your place of work or worksite with fit-for-purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. 

However, all eligible students must be over the age of 18 unless they have written permission from a parent or guardian who must co-sign the enrollment documentation.

Worried about facing theory or bookwork when you’re more a hands-on type of person? FTA understands this and will make sure you have the language, literacy and numeracy skills required before accepting you on the course so you are fully equipped for the challenge. This is especially helpful for international students from non-English speaking countries or those not as confident with paperwork as they are working on the tools.
